Washington Coast

The weather was unusually generous. We camped at a little known place (tiny forgotten town) at a KOA in Bay Center with beach access and wild blackberries (the rare small variety). Candy picked enough for a pie. Walking the beach we noticed a layer of shells with clay like soil on top and bottom. Was this part of the 1700 Tsunami?

We returned to Seattle and it was STILL SUNNY.

Visiting the Oregon Coast

Rocks, waves and shopping!!!

Tsunami warnings are posted in numerous places along the road. Here's the story.

Cannon Beach

Haystack rock dominates the beach at Cannon Beach.

Oregon Coast tides

The weather was absolutely fabulous and the tides were big. We especially liked the tide pools at Sea Rock.

The Oregon Coast

After a few weeks in Seattle the weather improved the first week of August. Until then, we had only 78 minutes over 80 degrees. We decided to take a road trip to the Oregon Coast. We crossed over the Columbia at Astoria.
