The wind was roaring though tall pines at the campground. It smelled wonderful but sounded like a jet engine and seemed dangerous on the rim. The lodge at the rim is truly breathtaking. The food is good and the view is fantastic. There's a morning room with huge windows overlooking the Canyon. Anyone is free to bring in their own pizza and enjoy the view. Outside there's a wonderful stone porch with seating for around with a front row view for about 40 people..again nothing required to take a seat and enjoy the view.
